Paper Abstract
A 5 page overview of the evolution of transportation forms during the latter half of the nineteenth century and the early part of the Twentieth. Recounts the impacts of this evolution on city growth and layout, streets, and even culture. Concludes that the evolution of transportation had worldwide impacts; impacts which were not restricted to the transport of goods and people alone, but which extended in fact to the transformation of culture.
