Paper Abstract
8 pages in length. The extent to which many considered Patton's Third Army to rise head and shoulders above Eisenhower's other armies is indicative of how one man's input can render an entire army as more of a splintered assembly rather than a united and fortified system. The approaches utilized by these armies reflected the best available choices for some; for others, however, questions still remain as to whether the action benefited the outcome. Bibliography lists 9 sources.
