It was Lot who accompanied Abraham on his journey up from Egypt, bringing along all the possessions the two families had between them. The fact that Abraham and Lot's father, who was the family patriarch, were brothers would have one believe that there existed a significant loyalty between them but this assumption did not reflect the truth.
