Religion is an exciting and powerful influence that has preoccupied mankind throughout history and motivated people to do extraordinary things that stretch the limits of human potential. It motivated Martin Luther to challenge the Pope, Gandhi to unite India, Martin Luther King, Jr., to challenge a racist society to reform. This paper discusses that impact on western culture.
