Paper Abstract
This 10 page paper traces the history of the development of British cinema from its beginnings in the nineteenth century through World War 1. The cultural adaptation, domination of the industry by America and the legislative moves to revive the British film industry in the post war years are covered. Examples of films during the period are given to demonstrate the facts and opinions given. The bibliography cites 6 sources.
