Abstract
The Supreme Court has always had
the power to uphold the intent of the Framers of the Constitution of the United States. In the Constitution, the Fourth Amendment protects
all American citizens against unlawful search and seizure by the government or
any agency acting for the government. By hearing cases that ultimately involve
our freedoms and civil liberties, the Court has established itself as a power
to be reckoned with and at the same time has moved from liberal to conservative
and back again with each new era. As long as the Court recognizes the sanctity and
importance of the Fourth Amendment, and does not decide cases based in fear of
terrorism, our constitutional rights and privileges will be safe.
