Apology
In Socrates
speech, he is everything but apologetic.Â
Socrates defends his actions and interrogates his prosecutor, Meletus. Arrogance
is the basis for his entire speech, claiming he is a gift from the gods and
should not be punished. Unsurprisingly, Socrates is found guilty after his
defensive speech. Socrates does not back
down and accepts his death sentence.Â
Socrates would rather stand by his philosophies and die, than abandon
his beliefs and live. Socrates does not
fear death, refusing to foolishly fear something that he knows nothing
about.Â
