Paper Abstract
This 12 page paper explores the roles of a number of groups in demise of apartheid in South Africa. Specific actions by the labor unions, women, students, and foreign entities are described. The acts cited represent only the smallest examples of the thousands of actions taken over decades in the struggle for freedom. Massive strikes, called stay-aways found thousands to millions participating in staying away from school, jobs and shopping. The black South Africans were not alone in the world. Demonstrations, protests and actions occurred in the United States. Foreign banks even entered the picture. Bibliography lists 16 sources.
