Paper Abstract
This 5 page paper discusses the concept of empowerment in nursing and describes and explains the practice of case management and how the two are linked. While there are a number of different case management models, they all have specific elements in common. Case management falls under the general umbrella of patient-focused care and has been shown to be effective in providing greater quality of care. To work, however, nurses need to be empowered.
