Many topics in the business world are not as ethical as they
should be. Workers are not always treated as equals. This fact brings about the
problems with wages and discrimination with paying employees. There are laws
that pertain to how much workers should make and minimum wage sets a dollar
amount of the lowest rate a person can be paid. But, as with any situation,
laws can be met but there are loop holes and ways to still be unethical. Some
jobs can be more dangerous than others, some may require more skill or more
time, and others can be things that no one really wants to do, but lack the
education to do anything better. Careers can keep people away from their homes
and families because they demand so much time. So how do we decide how much
these people should make? I chose this topic because I believe that people
should be treated equally in the workplace. Jobs that require employees to do
the same tasks or require the same amount of skill should earn the same wages.
