Landrieu has made such an impact upon American politics that she has garnered a number of nicknames to reflect her various positions on the issues. As "Military Mary," she places significant importance upon her armed services support, as well as making it a priority to understand the deeper issues surrounding defense matters. The desire to see a stronger familial core throughout America has motivated Landrieu to speak in support of adoption and foster care, while she works hard to maintain an equal balance in her own life between family and the responsibilities inherent to being a senior senator.
