The Musgrave Ritual
Synopsis
Sherlock
Holmes is called in to find the missing butler, Brunton, because the county
police were unable to do anything in the case.
In addition to the disappearance of the butler, a maid, Rachel Howells,
sick with hysteria and deliria also disappeared on her third night of
illness. All that was recovered from
where she disappeared was a bag with strangle pieces of metal and rock. Holmes
requested the paper which the butler also looked at, which was a guide to
something, somewhere but the paper had no meaning as to what it is. Holmes
takes the guide as a key to solving the case and begins to follow it, making
necessary deductions as to where, as well as calculations of the sun, and
finally follows the step guide to arrive at a storage space under the house in
Sussex, where the missing butler’s muffler was attached to a heavy flagstone. The police were called in and the stone
moved, under which they found a hidden space with chest with some old coins,
and the dead body of the missing butler, who had been trapped inside. After thinking about the location of the
items, the ancestry of Musgrave, and the age of the house, it was also
discovered that the metal in the bag found from the maid was a bent out of
shape ancient crown of England.
