Levi's Personal PairTM Jeans
OVERVIEW
This case series
(A, B and C) focuses on value chain reconfiguration in the women's jeans
business. It is set in Levi Strauss & Co. at the time (1995) when the
company's dominant market position in jeans and the resulting excellent
financial performance was just beginning to unravel. The case series describes
one strategic initiative by Levi's, the Personal PairTM program designed to help reassert Levi's market
leadership.
The
case series involves basic financial analysis to evaluate the financial impact
of the new strategic initiative which fundamentally reconfigures the supply
chain upon which Levi's business model is based.
