Back when I worked as a temporary
employee, I was placed at this company on this three month project. This
project consisted of us finding duplicate medical records for this hospital and
electronically combining the duplicate records into one. We were split into two
different teams with team leaders for each room. After about a week, my team
leader was fired because of conflict with another team leader, so the project
manager asked me to become team leader, I agreed to do so. Successful corporations don’t wait for
leaders to come along, they actively seek out people with leadership potential
and expose them to career experiences designed to develop that potential (Kotter, 2001). Team
leader responsibilities included, setting up the computers in the morning,
assigning medical records, assisting other team members, going over the work
and also helping the other team leader, shutting down the computers, cleaning
up the area and making sure everything was in its right place before we left.
