Paper Abstract
A 5 page paper which examines the language of so-called “locker room jokes” in terms of values, assumptions, stereotypes and fears they reflect. Specifically considered are jokes based on gender, race, body image and social class and how the values and assumptions behind these ‘jokes’ translate from sport into everyday life.
