One might readily surmise that female inmates with a history of domestic violence have a significantly more difficult time coping within the prison setting than their convict counterparts due to the patriarchal oppressive structure they have typically experienced. In order to meet the needs of this particular population women, it is important to tap into the vast psychological issues that are inherently associated with domestic violence.
