Introduction
The most influential impact that has been affecting women’s
employment issues since the 1980s has been structural adjustment, along with
recession. Regardless of any long-term
benefits that can be realized through structural adjustment, the short-term
effect has been nothing but social distress.
The purpose of this paper is to explain how the implementation of structural
adjustment policies has had a negative impact on women’s status in the less
developing countries (International Labour Organization 2007).
