Forced Drug Testing
     In this essay the author will discuss if
defendants should be forced to take a drug test and if pretrial programs are
effective in reducing failure to appear rates as well as pretrial crime. The
author will also discuss the notion that pretrial programs are ineffective and
are based on faulty assumptions. In the conclusion of this paper the writer
will adopt a position which will be supported by research data from various
sources.
      As drug use continues
to run ramped in our society the question of mandatory drug testing continue to
