Ethics and Social Responsibilities
           Ethics and Social Responsibilities
are vitally important aspects of conducing business, both in the United States
and globally. Recent corporate scandals
such as those of WorldCom and Enron highlight the necessity of both increased
ethical awareness and government regulation.Â
While at times it seems disappointing to consider that a government must
strictly regulate many aspects of a company’s conduct, it is in fact a
necessity due to several factors.
Two important factors are that of
ethics and socially-acceptable behavior.Â
Throughout the world, and even locally, what is considered ethical and
socially-acceptable varies greatly.Â
Using the United
States as an example, cultures, ethnicity,
and individual backgrounds are so diverse that creating an ethical standard is
quite simply a necessity.
Assertion
This paper will focus on the belief
