What
is education? This may seem like an elementary question, but when it is
lengthened, it can become extremely complicated. Webster’s New World
Dictionary’s definition says that education is “the process of educating;
teaching.” However, during the course of this essay, I will not discuss
education in general, but education in the United States; specifically
Kindergarten through twelfth grades. This is a broad subject, but I will
attempt to condense it into the form of an essay. I will outline the history
and background of US
education, its’ structure, and its’ role in the life of the average American.
