Do Women Have the Same Economic Opportunities as Men?
It has been debated over for several years whether men
and women are equal. Some say yes, however, most say no. The evidence that has been presented is
endless in regards to their equality/inequality including, but not limited to,
the amount of money men and women earn, the amount of job opportunities women
are offered, and the types of jobs women attain. It has been suggested that there are genetic
differences between men and women (Murray). Even though these are not the only
aspects of inequality in the world, they are “nevertheless a compelling, if
somewhat incomplete, picture of economic and social inequality in the United States
at the turn of the century” (Schmitt). It is apparent that women are continuously
less successful in a constantly progressing world; however, even though the
world is making headway, women still unfortunately are fighting for their
rights, and are however not completely triumphant.
