ABSTRACT:
I am interested in researching
and writing about Designer Children, as I believe it will have a significant
impact on not only the world but also my own life in the years to come. It is not a question of if but only a
question of when, for what parent would not want their child to have every
advantage in life? Of course, these modifications will start with preventative
measures but they will quickly lend themselves to enhancements. I intend to
discuss not only the moral arguments for and against Designer Children but also
the potential benefits for humanity should we embrace this field with
responsibility. I will draw on the works of renown
Genetics, the Transhumanist Foundation and skeptics
alike.
