Abstract
Since inception, Education in Nigeria has been ravaged by
poverty, which has been affecting the quality of its outputs. The issue of
inadequate equipment is an indicator of poverty in education. Most educational
institutions in Nigeria
are plaque by inadequate equipment for effective teaching of their students. In
this paper, the issue of improvisation as a strategy for alleviating education
poverty and ensuring self-reliance in Nigeria is discussed. The paper
specifically discussed the techniques of improvising selected Biology equipment
and how improvisation can alleviate poverty and ensure self-reliance in Nigeria.
It goes further to recommend measures that can enhance the act of improvisation
in educational institutions.
