Paper Abstract
A 7 page paper which presents the written images of Hernan Cortes and Bernal Diaz del Castillo. A comparison and contrast of the two individual’s writings is presented. The works discussed are “Second Letter to Charles V” and “Letters from Mexico,” by Hernan Cortes, and “The Conquest of New Spain” by Bernal Diaz del Castillo. The paper discusses the works of each man, individually, and then moves on to compare and contrast the two. One of the main focuses of the comparison and contrast is to uncover whether there were any discrepancies between the two. Overall, however, there appears to be no real obvious discrepancies, aside from the fact that one, Cortes, was a part of the invasion, and the other, Castillo, came afterward and merely wrote of the original conquest. Bibliography lists 1 additional source.
