Issues: Censorship
Many believe that
censorship is a violation of the First Amendment. But there are some that
believe that censorship is needed in America. This topic remains to be
one of the most controversial and debated issues in America today. Is censorship really
needed in America
today? Or is society overreacting?
The United States Bill of
Rights’ First Amendment states “ Congress shall make no law respecting an
establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ; or
abridging the freedom of speech, or the press; or the right of the people
peaceably to assemble, and petition the government for a redress of grievances”
(First Amendment).
