Women” is discussed here in the light of much debate with regard to the
NHSBSP’s policy of inviting women in the age range of 50 to 70 years. Forrest

Forrest and explained by Sir Donald Acheson in 1989 in the introduction. National
Statistics regarding education and awareness of women about risks of breast

describing the level of awareness in old women about breast cancer. Edwards and
Jones’ paper is discussed with statistical figures in regard to the influence
of uptake of breast screening for various categories such as marital status,
living conditions, anxiety factor and physical disability. Paper by Boer et al is discussed in detail in regard
to the computer simulation package Microsimulation Screening Analysis (MISCAN).
A contrasting view opposing screening by Kerlikowske et al is discussed in detail and reasons for opposing and
alternative steps to reduce screening are also discussed. General
Practitioner’s views about women’s attitude towards screening are discussed.
Methodologies adopted are discussed to the minutest part in detail. Finally the
conclusion and with some useful recommendations are described with respect to
each of the research articles.
