In this particular assignment we
will be discussing the decision making process for adults returning to
school. Many adults return to school for
reasons of their own. Some individuals
return for personal enhancements, others return to improve their careers. The decision making process in our daily
existence is inevitable. We all make
decisions for just about everything we do in our lives, some require additional
consideration and effort whereas others do not.
Our decision making methods translates our behavioral
distinctiveness. It’s basically what
identifies us all as our own person.
This uniqueness allows us all to adapt in different ways to various
situations. Making the decision to
return to school was no easy task. It’s
one that required a lot of thought about making many sacrifices in order to
adapt to a new situation. “The
development of critical thinking skills and dispositions is a life-long
endeavor” (Scriven & Paul, 2007). Taking consideration on possibly adjusting
your work schedule, time away from family and friends and the financial
commitment willing to endure to achieve the ultimate goal can be down right
frightening. Although they may seem like
small sacrifices at first, once engaged to the commitment of returning to
school the sacrifices at time can seem to engulf us. It takes a particular type of individual to
return to school especially online classes.
The online courses require more research and further evaluation of each
assignment to be done independently.
