10 pages in length. The age-old adage of an eye for an eye is still relevant in Canada today, particularly with regard to the death penalty. The issue of capital punishment is, perhaps, one of the most hotly contested of all contemporary controversial issues; while some believe that one who kills should pay his debt to society with his own life, others contend that two wrongs - in the case of executing a murderer - do not make a right. However, if someone chooses to take the life of another, he should be prepared to give up his own. This paper will back the argument in favor of capital punishment in Canada.
