ALTERNATIVE STRATEGIES FOR FINANCING
CAPITAL OUTLAY DURING UNIVERSAL BASIC EDUCATION IMPLEMENTATION IN NIGERIA
Abstract
When federal
government of Nigeria introduced the Universal Basic Education(UBE) policy in
1999, there was no doubt that such a policy was aimed at achieving
revolutionary objectives in the education sector moreso that a lot of
discrepancies were then observed in education provision. Amidst the continued
implementation of this laudable policy, this paper examines the avenues for
generating funds to finance capital projects in educational institutions apart
from relying on government, which from all indications is finding it difficult
to finance education adequately.
