1. Case Study of Rena Graybeal: Gerontology Theories of Disengagement and Activity   (11  Pages, 131.45 $ (USD) )
This is an 11 page paper discussing a case study of an elderly woman in regards to the gerontology theories of disengagement and activity. A case study of an elderly woman, Rena Graybeal, consists of two aspects: part one, her biography which explores her biographical details, education, social supports, retirement, finances, politics, religion, relationships and health status; and, part two, her life in relation to the gerontology theories of disengagement and activity. The disengagement theory and the activity theory present two contrasting concepts of what functional roles older individuals play in society: disengagement, in which older individuals gradual disengage themselves from activities in society in order to allow for the younger generations which leads to life satisfaction; and activity, in which older individuals continue to maintain high activity levels in order to continue to contribute to society which leads to life satisfaction. Upon reviewing Rena Graybeal’s biography and current life, it becomes obvious to readers that Rena has always had and continues to have an active life consistent with the activity theory. Rena continues to contribute to this generation and the next, is aware of political, environmental and social issues, and maintains an open-mind in regards to religion, politics, family and other important components which makes her a functional member of society. 2. The Ethics of Euthanasia: Baby Rena   (3  Pages, 35.85 $ (USD) )
A 3 page paper discussing the case of Baby Rena, whose foster parents insisted on extreme measures to prevent her death even though it was well past time to let her go. Author and theologian Vigen Guroian is highly opposed to euthanasia, though he is not opposed to allowing a person – any person – to die with dignity. For Guroian, dying with dignity does not include pursuing every heroic attempt to apply every known technological tool in seeking to prolong life. Rather, dying with dignity can and often does include being allowed to die from the patient perspective. Though Guroian is vehemently opposed to active euthanasia, he believes that Baby Rena would have been better served had she been allowed to die in peace and with dignity. Bibliography lists 1 source.

10. Role Of Women: Renaissance And Today   (5  Pages, 59.75 $ (USD) )
5 pages in length. Throughout the renaissance, patriarchy was responsible for designing women’s role in society; many of these devices used in earlier centuries were related to religion. Certain scripture regularly challenged women to disprove that they were inferior—to not agree was heresy. When religion did not work alone, scientific theory was included as a factor in the equation that supported the ideal that women are inferior. Based on a conviction of inferiority, male authorities were then able to design lifestyles for women, including approved activities, mannerism, education, sexuality and religious pursuits. Contemporary society, however, has witnessed a metamorphosis of gender oppression, clearly demonstrated through popular culture. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
