Arthur Miller's 'Death Of A Salesman': Biff And Willy Loman
(5 Pages, 59.75 USD)
5 pages in length. Willy Loman and his son Biff are fashioned out of the same social mold, inasmuch as their respective desires to meet the unspoken demands of responsibility are hopelessly unattainable. In spite of the fact that Biff watches his father slowly wither away under the pressures of social performance, he does not learn from the experience, merely serving to perpetuate the ongoing dance that exists between success and failure. Indeed, one can readily argue that Willy's primary focus was upon providing for his family, for whom he believed he had to sacrifice his entire life. It was through this skewed perception of one's existence that Willy ultimately lost his way along the path of happiness while in perpetual pursuit of his own social responsibility. In a way, this sense of responsibility rubbed off on Biff to the extent that he attempted to gain his father's appreciation through efforts of his own, yet inevitably falling far short of his worthless quest. The writer discusses how Willy and Biff Loman mirror each other. No additional sources cited.

Family Values In The Loman Household
(5 Pages, 59.75 USD)
Death Of A Salesman was written and produced in 1949. The post war years were a time of re-evaluating and re-inventing many of the values and beliefs that had been torn apart by a war that had shown the world the depths that human spirit and decency could go while wearing the face of normalcy. This 5 page essay attempts to explore the play by Arthur Miller in terms of what the family values were, what they meant to the Lomans and how the modern world had come to a place where the abuse of traditional family values was becoming the norm. “Death Of A Salesman”: Social Conscience
(10 Pages, 119.5 USD)

Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman represents a collection of social ills and misgivings, inasmuch as Willy Loman’s perpetual quest for success concludes with the death of a very miserable man. The writer discusses this attention to social conscience is apparent from beginning to end of Miller’s play, noting that each primary character relates to this concept in his or her own individual manner.
