Regardless of the origins of the Native Americans and African Americans, most sociologists agree that because they have been deemed “minority social races” they will continue to experience various forms of assimilation expectations and discrimination by the dominant group. The genre had changed over the years however and in today’s cinema can be found a mixture of black/white buddy roles, stereotyped racial roles and movies depicting African American urban blight.
