1. Human Memory   (6  Pages, 71.7 USD)
6 pages in length. Many adults do not possess the ability to recall childhood experiences, which social psychologists have termed as episodic or recollective memory. The aspect of selective remembering has been the subject of myriad scientific studies, inasmuch as researchers want to understand more fully the reasons behind childhood amnesia. Adults who cannot remember a great deal of their young past are often prompted by family or friends as a means by which to trigger certain memories; however, studies have demonstrated that merely reminding someone of an event in which he or she participated during childhood is not the same as the individual recalling the event. The writer discusses and analyzes an article pertaining to childhood amnesia. Bibliography lists 2 sources.

5. The Effects of Childhood Obesity   (6  Pages, 71.7 USD)
This is a 6 page paper discussing the causes and effects of childhood obesity. The incidence of obesity in the United States has more than doubled in the last thirty years and currently affects 25% of children and 33% of adults. Childhood obesity is a growing concern due to the risks associated with obesity which include serious health problems such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, gallbladder disease, stress on weight bearing joints, sleep disorders, respiratory dysfunction and increased risk to certain cancers among others. The incidence of Type II diabetes has been increasing in children believed to be a direct result of the increase in overweight and obese children. In addition to the obvious health risks, obese children are also more susceptible to social and psychological problems which may result in isolation from peer groups and low self-esteem based on society’s preference for thinness. Altering this increasing incidence of childhood may be difficult however as not only do hereditary factors play a part but perhaps more importantly so do behavioral and environmental factors. A great deal of responsibility has been placed on the family environment in changing this trend of increased non-physical activities such as watching television and playing on computers which have led to the decrease in overall physical activity levels in children. Additional societal influences are the promotion of foods with high fat and sugar content in television ads and the promotion of large portions in restaurants; a combination of elements which are difficult for children to overcome. 6. Teaching Diversity in Early Childhood and the Classroom   (4  Pages, 47.8 USD)
This is a 4 page paper addressing the issue of diversity in early childhood. Diversity within the educational system must not only address multicultural considerations which are a major concern but also address diversity in regards to populations which may have physical or learning disabilities, bilingual concerns, gender and technological issues among others. Children surveyed at a grade 6 level already show signs and have experienced prejudice which brings the introduction of diversity in the educational and the home environment to a much earlier level; to that of early childhood from pre-kindergarten to grade 3. Teachers and parents of those in early childhood must be aware of the perceptions of the children, allow open and critical discussions regarding all aspects of diversity, offer the children opportunities to interact with diverse populations and make sure all educational material such as books, television, videos, paintings, music, computer games, and puzzles to name a few should contain diverse populations. Through early interaction, parents and educators can open the child’s learning environment and provide the child the invaluable aspects of acceptance, tolerance and the celebration of diversity. 7. Environmental Influences on Cognitive Development in Middle Childhood   (3  Pages, 35.85 USD)
This is a 3 page paper discussing environmental (nurture) influences on cognitive development in middle childhood. Middle childhood, which extends from 6 to 13 years of age, is a highly transitional and productive learning period in regards to cognitive development. Children are cognitively leaving the preoperational stage which is primarily based on the relationships between symbols, language and the environment and enter the concrete operational stage which is concentrated on the concrete and abstract abilities of the child. During middle childhood, research has found that children need an interactive and supportive environment both at school and at home which provides cooperative learning yet allows the child to ask as many questions as needed in order to “mentally manipulate” information.
