1. Wright's Native Son   (6  Pages, 71.7 USD)
Richard Wright's Native Son was written in the 1940's, in a time just before the beginning of the civil rights movement in the United States. It was written in the style of a realist text - that is, it was meant to convey two sides to the reality of the time but gives more substance to the reality of the American Black man in the character of Bigger Thomas. This 6 page paper argues that Wright sought to shock his audience out of their complacent acceptance of unrealistic stereotypes. Bigger had to become 'bigger' than the worst in order to bring the falsehood of the belief into reality. He could not be a character that the reader would be able to sympathize with or the purpose of the story would be lost. No other sources are listed.

7. The Economics of Baseball in the 21st Century   (7  Pages, 83.65 USD)
This 7 page report discusses the issues associated with the fact that baseball is big business. The acrimonious strike by major-league baseball players in 1994 and 1995 dealt the game a terrible blow. But the strike only confirmed what baseball fans already knew. Each new season sees the game’s best players competing for the title of highest-paid athlete. But in terms of the economics of baseball, issues such as salary caps, revenue sharing, and whether or not there is truly a bias in favor of “big money-big market” teams have earned a greater amount of attention than many of the nuances of baseball. This paper examines the fact that there should be a greater level of parity in baseball. Nobody denies that the character and promotion of baseball has changed. This paper looks at issues and solutions regarding those changes and their resolution. Bibliography lists 12 annotated sources and copies of those sources.
